Silvana Book Agent can run on self-hosted infrastructure or in a managed cloud environment. The agent communicates with Silvana through a gRPC service, signs transactions locally, and never transmits the private key to the server. Silvana Book agents are not tied to a single hosting model: you can deploy the agent on your own infrastructure or run it in the cloud.

Self-hosted: Full infrastructure control, internal scaling, and deployment management.
Google Cloud: Managed runtime, automatic scaling, built-in secret storage, faster production rollout.

Onboard the agent

Before onboarding, make sure you have a Silvana DevNet invite code. Silvana provides the invite code.

On successful onboarding, cloud-agent creates the agent identity, completes the required Canton setup, and writes .env and a starter agent.toml to the current directory.

The DevNet RPC is used by default. Use --rpc <URL> only when connecting to another endpoint.

Run the agent

Once onboarding is complete, start the long-running agent process:

cloud-agent agent
